Sunbelt Solomon’s efforts to support the organization in sustaining overall team member development while driving Safety and increasing Quality are strengthened by the addition of Ken Johnson to the executive team, serving as the Vice President of Operations – West. This is an exciting next step in our continued growth.
In addition to having direct oversight of our Service Centers in the west region, Ken will emphasize focus on Quality, Continuous Improvement and Enterprise Winding. During the early stages of his assignment, Ken will be working with Service Center Managers to help bring these operations to optimal performance.
Ken will work closely with John Gann, Vice President of Operations – East to ensure alignment between their regions to further build efficiencies across the organization.
Ken lives in the Temple, TX area and brings a wealth of experience in operational quality-focused leadership. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Maverick Power, a switchgear manufacturer serving the data center segment, where he focused on using lean tools and process changes to improve production output levels by 300%. Other prior roles include: COO for Green Cubes, a Private Equity owned firm engaged in the manufacturing of Lithium-Ion power systems; Director of Integrated Modular Systems for VERTIV, where he established their Center of Excellence for modular data center manufacturing; Vice President of Manufacturing for Active Power, an industrial battery manufacturer, where he focused on inventory and supply chain process improvements — delivering a 20% reduction in operation costs. He also held other positions of increased responsibility in the areas of manufacturing and supply chain at AVAYA, EATON, Danaher, and IBM.
Ken is a graduate of Texas A&M where he obtained both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.
