Temporary Power Solution Means More Apples During Harvest Season

Fresh berries in the summer and crisp apples in the fall are some of life’s simple pleasures. What isn’t so simple is the journey that fresh produce undergoes between being grown and being enjoyed in your salad.

In fact a great deal of expertise, money and power equipment goes into keeping grocery store produce shelves stocked, especially during busy harvest seasons.

Recently, we had the opportunity to work with a client that forms an integral link in BC’s fresh produce supply chain.

The Client: Experts in Fresh Produce

This client has been in the fruit business for 25 years. Since starting out in fresh fruit sales and marketing for BC’s independent fruit packers, they have expanded their operations dramatically; they have joined forces with a global produce supplier, developed expertise in logistics, IT and seed development technology, and built a capital investment portfolio that spans the globe.

The Challenge: An Equipment Expansion Requires More Power

In anticipation of the upcoming harvest season, our client had purchased new apple sorting equipment to add to their existing fleet so that they would be able to manage the temporary influx of fruit.

Unfortunately, their power system was not equipped to handle the extra machinery. Because they would only be using the new equipment during harvest season, they determined that a temporary power solution would be the most economical solution. However, rental options in their region were very limited.

That’s when they called Trinity Power.

Our Approach: Tailored Temporary Power for Unique Needs

Working with the facility’s electrician, the Trinity team built a solution designed to meet our client’s specific needs.

We provided a 320KW 480V diesel generator, 75 feet of 4/0 camlok cable and a 4500L external fuel tank. We also provided fuel delivery services for the duration of the rental – a value-added service available with all our generator rental solutions.

The Result: A Stress-Free Harvest Season

With their new apple sorter, our client will be able to process the influx of apples that harvest season brings. And thanks to Trinity’s solution, they will be able to do so economically and efficiently.

Apple lovers, rejoice.
